Amanda Wisian- PMHNP, LPC, NCC

(she, her, hers)

Psychiatric NP and Therapist

I believe in resiliency of the human spirit, and I am more interested in the therapeutic connection with an individual rather than the generalization of treatment.  My greatest passion is helping others find their way and bring happiness and stability back into people’s lives.

Hiya! My name is Amanda and I love working in the mental health field.

After many years of travelling and living across the United States, I am happy call Colorado home and have lived here for over a decade so far.  Having had the opportunity to live among many other cultures and those with different lifestyles and values has provided me with a broad humanistic perspective, burgeoning empathy, and a wealth of experience that have positively impacted my work with those in need.

Upon graduating with a graduate degree in counseling from Indiana State University, I have worked in nearly every part of the mental health field, including inpatient and outpatient offices, residential treatment centers, schools, correctional facilities, and methadone clinics.  This variety of practice has provided me with knowledge and adaptability that has been invaluable in treating clients of all ages and backgrounds.

I went back for my second master’s degree in nursing with a focus on psychiatry in order to be a prescriber and augment my existing skills to better address the breadth of mental health issues experienced by my patients. Major depression, self-harming behaviors, anxiety, and trauma are all specializations of mine, especially with children and adolescents.

Outside of the office I enjoy digital painting, playing video and board games, hiking, and snuggling my corgi, Fizzgig.
